Notes from
the Editorial
Office
Dranvelo Letters has published considered editorial writing on nutrition, everyday food practice, and the active week since early 2026. The publication operates from a small office in Bloomsbury, central London.
Why This Publication Exists
There is a significant volume of material available on the subject of everyday nutrition. Most of it belongs to one of two registers: the instructive-specialist, which assumes the reader has a specific condition requiring management; or the commercial-aspirational, which regards food as a mechanism for transformation. Neither register, in the observation of this publication's editors, is particularly well-suited to the ordinary British person managing an ordinary week of eating.
Dranvelo Letters occupies a third register: analytical-editorial. Articles are written in the tradition of long-form science journalism, without the presuppositions of either specialist practice or lifestyle marketing. The subject is the ordinary week — its eating patterns, its movement, its rhythms of preparation and consumption — observed with the same careful attention that good journalism applies to any other complex subject.
The publication is not affiliated with any food producer, supplement manufacturer, or wellness programme. Its editorial decisions are made independently, with reference only to published research and the field observations of its contributing writers.
Contributing Editors
Beatrice Holloway
Beatrice Holloway holds a background in nutrition writing and long-form science journalism, with a focus on population-level dietary patterns in the United Kingdom. She founded Dranvelo Letters in 2026 to document the intersection of everyday food practice and analytical wellness writing. Her field notes form the basis of the publication's methodological approach.
Tobias Renshaw
Tobias Renshaw contributes to Dranvelo Letters from a background in sport science writing and the analysis of physical performance as it relates to everyday nutritional practice. His writing is drawn from eight years of field observation across both competitive and recreational athletic contexts in the UK, with a particular focus on the interaction between meal planning and sustained physical activity.
Harriet Caldwell
Harriet Caldwell writes on gut health and the emerging research literature on dietary fibre and the gut microbiome from a perspective in wellness journalism and long-form editorial. Her contributions to Dranvelo Letters focus specifically on the relationship between plant-food variety, fermented foods, and the practical structuring of a gut-supportive weekly diet.

Source Review
Claims referencing published research are cross-checked against peer-reviewed sources. The publication prioritises replicated findings over single studies and discloses where evidence remains mixed.
Editorial Review
Every article is reviewed by a second editor before publication. Reviews assess factual accuracy, register consistency, and compliance with the publication's stop-word and vocabulary standards.
Public Corrections
Corrections are noted publicly at the end of the relevant article. The publication does not quietly update errors — all substantive changes are documented with a correction notice and date.
